Deceased Persons' Estates

Should an attorney handle a deceased person's estate?

YES. An attorney knows the law and how the estate must be administered.

The Clerk of Superior Court's office cannot practice law and, therefore, cannot give out legal advice or fill out any forms and can basically only offer general assistance to you in the administration of the estate. They are only the record keeper for the estates.

An attorney is an independent unbiased person who can prevent family squabbles and take the load off of you.
