The law firm of Henderson & Henderson was founded in 1923 when two brothers from Wilkes County, Worth D. and T. Glenn Henderson, opened their practice in the old Banner Building in downtown Greensboro. Though the firm handled a wide variety of legal matters, the brothers and their clients quickly learned that they had a special ability and passion for defending serious criminal cases before juries. For nearly sixty years, the two brothers were fire-and-brimstone trial lawyers in the old-school tradition and defended many of the most serious and notorious criminal cases tried in Guilford County in the twentieth century. They took great pride in having privately schooled, along with the late attorney Clifford Frazier, the first African-American lawyer licensed to practice law in Guilford County; i.e., Herbert Parks, Esquire; and they were known for giving minority defendants the same vigorous defense enjoyed by other citizens in an era when such was the exception rather than the norm. Glenn retired in 1972, and died in 1983 at the age of eighty-eight. Worth retired in 1982, and died in 1996 at the age of ninety-eight.

The general practice of the law firm of Henderson and Henderson continues today in the names of J. Douglas Henderson, Worth's son, and Doug's wife, Cathe Champion Henderson. Particular emphasis is placed upon the following areas of practice: criminal trials, traffic violations, juvenile law (including juvenile delinquents, juvenile DSS cases; i.e., parents charged with child abuse, child neglect, and child dependency, and termination of parental rights), probate, deceased persons' estates, wills, real estate, and personal injury. Doug has for many years defended some of the county's most publicized capital murder cases and other serious felony prosecutions. Cathe has long and broad experience in the areas of probate law, deceased persons' estates, and real estate law and is Public Administrator for Guilford County, Greensboro Division.
